During the Model A Mail Truck era, most of the mail trucks had governors installed to prevent the drivers from "speeding" on their routes.  The HOOF Governor was the most commonly one used.

One of the founding members of the Postal A's Chapter was Aldie E. Johnson of Bedford MA.   Along with Rick Black of Las Cruces NM, he researched Post Office Vehicles at the National Archives in Washington DC in the 1970s and then wrote a definitive compilation of Postal A's information and history called the "Ford Model A Mail Truck."

Richmond Bell was one of the founders of the Postal A's and was known as Mr. Model A down on the Cape. He ran run a Model A parts business before retired.  He had a great love for Model A's. In addition to the coupe and his Mail Truck, he had a 157" W/B truck and a pretty phenomenal amount of Model A knowledge.  Mr. Bell passed in 2020.
